Throughout the year East Lincs Brass Orchestra offer one-day workshops that are open to anyone playing any orchestral instrument, at any level. Locations can vary across Lincolnshire depending on availability of spaces to hire. Below is a list of our upcoming workshops. Please email us if you wish to register your interest, although a large majority of the workshops are available to just pay and turn up on the day. These workshops prove very popular and have always had positive feedback.
An informal workshop for all orchestral players, for those learning to play their first notes to advanced players. All ages, experience and abilities welcome to attend.
The workshop will run in the main hall at the Louth Methodist Church from 10am-4.30pm followed by an informal concert at 5pm. Friends and family are welcome to attend this. You will have the opportunity to play with the full orchestra and take part in a sectional rehearsal by local teachers and professional players.
All music and parts for the day can be found on the BBC Ten Pieces website. All parts are differentiated so you are able to choose the instrument and grading you feel is most appropriate to your ability level.
Proposed repertoire for the day:
Bernstein - Mambo from West Side Story, Copland - Hoe-Down (Rondo)
Sibelius – Finlandia, Wagner - Ride of the Valkyries
The cost of the workshop is £15 (£10 for under 16s), which includes the day of expert tuition, hot drinks and biscuits. Please bring a packed lunch, instrument, music stand and enthusiasm for a guaranteed enjoyable day!
